Leadership
One of the most important parts of creating a world-class guest experience is leading a world-class team. After all, a project is only as good as the team behind it. Here, I’d like to highlight some of my favourite projects as part of my career in which I’ve had a hand as a leader in some capacity. Of course, the success of these projects was due to the wonderful team backing me up.
MH Technology Group
For a few years now, I’ve been a consulting and fractional executive at a small technology and operations company. Part of my responsibilities include leading strategy for new developments as well as directing industrial projects of up to $50M.
Stealing Fire
This was a short film in which I was the Line Producer. The film was shot in rural Georgia, on a tight budget of $24k, and with the cast and crew flown in from around the country. The story is about a dystopian future in an authoritarian society. When 10-year-old Benjamin finds a closet full of banned books, will he choose to protect his mother or serve the Great Leader?
Imaginarium: Victoria Gardens
Imaginarium is a concept for a library experience based in Central Park, New York. The driving force was to deliver an experience that allowed all Guests to enjoy a good story, regardless of background or ability. This included organising books visually – instead of the outdated Dewey Decimal Classification, creating “show spaces” with 4D experiences of popular stories, and having rooms where young kids could interact with the space while learning about language and classic stories.
Disney’s Ultimate EnginEARing Exploration
I was chosen to participate in the (potentially last ever) DUEE held by Facility Operation Services at Walt Disney World. We were tasked with creating a hypothetical new land, with the goal of figuring out many of the technical aspects of our creative intent.
Out of 50 participants, I was the Best Project Manager for that year.
The Themed Entertainment Industry is rapidly growing. You need experiences that will attract and retain guests for years to come. The first step is hiring the right team. If you’re ready to take the next step, get in touch.
